Care

Lo, in the velvet cloak of midnight’s shroud,
Where silence waltzes ‘neath the silver sphere,
A maiden stands, unrobed, unbound, unbowed,
Bathed in the breath of Heaven, cool and clear.

Soft orbs of golden fire in hush descend,
Like tearful stars that weep upon her skin,
Each molten pearl doth kiss and gently blend,
Till light and flesh entwine as one within.

O nature’s muse! Thy form the gods have traced,
A temple bare where purity doth glow,
Each limb in whispered radiance embraced,
As beams, like lovers’ hands, do wander slow.

Thus doth the night in secret splendor weave,
A dance of light no waking eye perceives.
